Cartographies of the Repressed: The Crisis of Social Reproduction in the Processes of Urban Extractivism. – According to Jameson, erasure is a key mechanism by which dominant ideology shapes collective consciousness in capitalism, sidelining social contradictions via symbolically charged narratives (Jameson 1981). Based on a cartographic workshop with Rione Sanità Educational Network in Naples, Italy, this article deconstructs the hegemonic urban regeneration narrative by uncovering the hidden wounds of the district, which have been removed from the official discourse on urban regeneration. In particular, the empirical findings of the study illuminate three dimensions of the repressed: the labour-intensive burden of educational work upon which the weight of the crisis of social reproduction falls; the thinning of public spaces for children and adolescents; the loss of essential social infrastructures for the district and its habitability.
Counter-Geographies of Wine: Marginal Viticultural Practices and the Transition To-ward a Post-Alcoholic Enotourism. The Role of Acquata. – This article proposes a critical re-reading of contemporary wine geographies through the notion of counter-geographies, focusing on acquata—a traditional post-fermentative beverage derived from the rehydration of grape pomace—as an epistemic and territorial device capable of reconfiguring the cultural and ecological meanings of wine production. Building on the theoretical framework of post-alcoholic enotourism, the study explores how emerging “NoLo” (no- and low-alcohol) consumption regimes intersect with transformations in rural landscapes, sustainability policies, and socio-symbolic practices of conviviality. Historical and geographical analysis reveals that acquata, far from being a marginal residue of pre-industrial viticulture, embodies a vernacular knowledge system rooted in circular use of resources, social equity, and ecological restraint. Its historical erasure through modern regulatory frameworks reflects broader processes of epistemic and territorial exclusion within capitalist agri-food regimes. By reactivating ac-quata as a cultural and political tool, the paper advances the hypothesis of a regenerative geography of wine, in which residual practices and marginal knowledges serve as generative forces for more inclusive, sustainable, and plural forms of enotourism and territorial identity.

Enhancement policies of sheep tracks network and local development: a renewed challenge for Abruzzo. − Abruzzo cultural landscape has been shaped by the practice of transhumance, which supported the process of urban transformation and economically sustained the social fabric. The inclusion, in 2019, of transhumance in the UNESCO list of Intangible Cultural Heritage gave a chance to rethink regional initiatives aimed at defining projects for the enhancement of sheep tracks which testify the will to create new tourist opportunities and to activate broader local development projects. The “Parcovie 2030 - The Transhumance that unites” project fits into this context. The aim of this paper is to verify the progress of this project (with a critical assessment of the role played by governance), considering the potentialities of the territory, also with regard to the demographic and socio-economic capital endowment shown by the areas crossed by these paths.
Social capital and digital interactions in Italian regions during the emergency phase Covid-19. – With the implementation in Italy of the prevention measures against the spread of the Covid-19, social interactions have been recalibrated through the use of digital infrastructures such as Internet, which have strengthened stable and innovative social relationships. The aim of this research was to evaluate by a quantitative approach, the relationships in all Italian regions of social capital and digital interactions. The analysis has corroborated the existence of a regional divide and a dominant position of some regions of northern Italy and a different relational involvement of the population in all Italian regions.
Urban solidarity networks as antidote for global epidemics. – The Covid-19 emergency leads us to reflect upon the issues related to the unpredicta-bility and exceptionality of the phenomenon, introducing new reforms that are in stark contrast with the practices of local contexts. In this sce-nario the city can become the place where the “metabolization” of crisis phenomena takes place through widespread forms of adaptation. The study aims to analyze the practices that are being experimented in this period in order to mitigate the effects of the pandemic. We speak of tactics aimed at building networks of urban solidarity, guaranteeing subsistence services to citizens and promoting practices of mutualism and collaboration aimed at codifying new forms of social capital. Through solidarity networks examples, the research highlights how forms of active territoriality can contribute to the resilience of the urban system in times of crisis.
Space, diversity, security. Anthropological notes on symbolic control of migration flows. – Focusing on the Italian recent «decreto sicurezza» (Security bill) the article provides an interpretive frame for understanding the symbolic implications of regulating migration flows across the states. While politics would tackle in the past both security and welfare, neoliberal expansion of autonomous capitals has progressively confined the role of professional politicians to preserving security for their constituencies. National decision makers thus need emergencies to legitimate their existence as securitization agents. That exasperation by politics of the sole security dimension of social life within the nation state has exacerbated the otherization of migrants through space (clandestinification) and the space production (local and national) through the otherization and widespread physical marginalization because of their mobility status of people in transit.
“The Land of my Dreams”: Ideas of Sustainable Tourism between Research and Participation in the Territory of the Gran Sasso-Laga National Park – The Project “The land of my dreams” is part of the activities of the Cartolab laboratory’s research activities (Department of Human Sciences, University of L’Aquila) and of the initiatives planned by the National Park for the elaboration of the Economic and Social multi-year Plan. In the framework of a participatory research-action, the aim of the Project is to study the social and territorial potential of the National Park, in terms of social capital, expectations, hopes and “dreams” of its inhabitants. In the current post-disaster situation in which a large part of the Park’s territory is involved, through the research and participation actions planned by the Project, it is possible to give shape to the hope of rebuilding one’s own life, one’s own community, one’s own land starting from those traces of future that obstinately and stubbornly persist. To this purpose, one of the topics on which the second phase of the Project, concerning the formulation of choices and decisions, focuses its attention is tourism as it represents one of the most recurring themes in the narratives about the future of the 428 people interviewed.
Ambitions and cultural exploitations in response to the crisis. Discourses and urban metamorphosis in Cagliari. – This contribution reflects on how the cultural dimension is embedded in the "narrative" on the city (Cagliari) as a pos-sible answer to the problems of the current economic and social crisis. Our hypothesis is that the use of "miraculous" values of culture is the 'Trojan Horse' to legitimize neoliberal policies and actions on the city, where almost get confused public interventions of actual value but also speculative interests of private individuals. This hypothesis is argued by analyzing the speeches and achievements of some projects based on ex-plicit cultural and symbolic values, ambitions and/or exploitations. These also involve the ambition of a projection of the city on the international scene: from "Cagliari capital of the Mediterranean" to "Cagliari Europe-an Capital of Culture".
